Ava M Smith

AVA MAURINE SMITH was born on March 20, 1906 in Plainfield, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Carrie (Robinson) Bossom. She married Lyle Smith on October 12, 1924 in Waverly, Iowa. He died on August 26, 1990. Ava died on Friday, October 29, 1999, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home at 93 years of age.

She is survived by two sons, Larry of Vorhees, Iowa and Robert of New Hartford, Iowa; tow daughters, Donna Johnson of Waverly, Iowa and Darlyce Drum of Dike, Iowa; a daughter in law, Marge of Fruita, Colorado; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Elna Beard of Plainfield, Iowa.  Ava was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sons, Lyle Jr. and Burdette Smith; three sisters, Ruby Eveland, Hazel Snyder and Ruth Cagley and four brothers, Howard, Leslie, Kenneth and James Bossom.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 1999, at First Baptist Church in Cedar Falls with burial at 2:00 p.m. in Willow Lawn Cemetery in Plainfield, Iowa.  Memorials to the Church.
