ASTA H. MIKKELSEN was born January 2, 1926 in Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Thora (Peterson) Jacobsen. She married Vernon Mikkelsen on June 27, 1948 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Asta worked in the office, at Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls, for 48 years. She died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Falls, at 75 years of age.
Asta is survived by her husband, Vernon Mikkelsen of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harry H. Jacobsen.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Interment was at Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery in rural Cedar Falls.
