Arnold Frederick Janssen

Arnold Frederick Janssen, 97, of Cedar Falls, passed away at MercyOne/Sartori Hospital. He was born in Etna Township on July 12, 1928, youngest child of John and Gertje (Ulmann) Janssen. Arnie attended country school near Ackley, then worked on the family farm. He married Norma Jean Coplen on January 4, 1956, at the East Friesland Church Parsonage. Arnie farmed for many years, then worked a short while at Baird Concrete and, finally, at Viking Pump.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Frederick, Alma, Gertie, Joe, Herman and Christina. He is survived by his wife, Norma; son, David (Shukarni) Janssen of Cedar Falls; and grandson, Alvin Janssen.

Arnie was a hard working man, good neighbor and "loving old boy". He cherished spending time with his grandson most of all. He will be missed.
