ARLENE (HARPER) JARCHOW was born July 17, 1920 at Oelwein, Iowa the daughter of Floyd & Elsie (Peeper) Harper. She married Alfred A. Jarchow on May 28, 1939 in Oelwein. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1994. Arlene was employed at Raytheon when they lived in Oelwein and the was employed at Sears in Waterloo for many years when they lived in Cedar Falls. She died Friday, March 28, 2003 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo at the age of 82 years.
Survivors include four nephews, Dennis Jarchow of Waterloo, Jim Jarchow of Dubuque, Greg Jarchow of Oelwein, Tim Jarchow of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and four nieces, Kathy Harshberger of Cedar Falls, Colleen Jarchow of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Marcia Hagedorn of Roland, Iowa and Janice Kauten of Alamosa, Colorado.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Harold M. Harper and Verne F. Harper.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at St. John Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein. Memorials may be given to the church.
