Arlene F Glassner

Arlene F. Glassner, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, December 23, 2012, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. Arlene was born September 5, 1927 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Dan & Merle (Mastain) Hummel. She married Bill Glassner and they later divorced. Arlene graduated from Cedar Falls High School, attended Iowa State Teachers College (now UNI), and worked as a legal secretary for fifty years, retiring in 1995. Survivors include two brothers, Jerry (Bev) Hummel, of Cedar Falls and Ivan Hummel, of Dike, Iowa; and a sister, Karen (Joe Hintz) Dinger, of Santa Clara, California. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold and Allen Hummel. Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
