Ardith Jane Rittgers

Ardith "Ardy" Jane Rittgers, of New Hartford, died Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Nation Cottage at Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls. She was born July 29, 1937, in New Hartford, daughter of Lawrence and Esther (Ballhagen) Rittgers.  Ardy graduated from New Hartford High School in 1955. She worked in the Placement Office at the University of Northern Iowa as well as at the Waverly Sale Barn. Ardy really enjoyed cooking (even watching cooking shows).  She especially loved being outdoors working in the yard, gardening and feeding their birds all year long. Ardy liked to do latch hook rugs.  She, Charlotte and Brother Don would venture out weekly to eat at restaurants in Clarksville and Waverly

Ardy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gladys Elliott and Elizabeth Rittgers; brothers, Eugene and Merle Rittgers; 3 sisters-in-law, Rose Ella, Marvel and Frances; and a brother-in-law, Calvin Elliott. She is survived by a sister, Charlotte Rittgers of New Hartford; two brothers, Donald Rittgers of Shell Rock and Ralph (Arlene) Rittgers of Park Rapids, Minnesota; nieces, nephews and other beloved family members; close friends and neighbors; and her dog, Pansy.

Ardy's Funeral will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, with Visitation one hour prior both at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery of New Hartford. Memorials may be directed to the Family. Her service will be livestreamed at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
