80, of Cedar Falls and formerly of Sibley, Iowa died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. She was born April 7, 1924 at Canton, S.D. the daughter of Roscoe & Vera (Haas) McVay. Ardis graduated from Valley Springs High School in Valley Springs, South Dakota. She married Kenneth H. Else June 28, 1942 in Canton. He died July 26, 2003. Ardis was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 102 and the United Methodist Church, both in Sibley.
Survivors include three sons, Harlan (Karen) Else of Colorado Springs, Colorado, David (Barbara) Else of Cedar Falls, Rod Else of Minneapolis, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren; Shelly Prenger, Wendy Sparks, Marne Busatto, Casey McPeek, Kevin McPeek, Jim Else, Jennifer Hartman, Travis Else, Tucker Else, Chad Lasky, Ryan Else and Lindsay Sheeks, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one brother, Glen (Margaret) McVay of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Terry Else.
Memorial services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Sibley United Methodist Church, 700 11th Ave. NE, with burial at Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley, Iowa. A memorial fund will be established.
