Annette K Rath

Annette Kay Rath, 70, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Monday, September 20, 2010, in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Annette was born July 14, 1940 to Otis and Nora (Leftwich) Higdon in Waterloo.  She attended East High School and the University of Northern Iowa.  Annette was married to John Schill of Sioux City and later to Dick Rath of Cedar Falls.  She was a homemaker and later worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a sales/customer service representative.  Annette loved cats for companionship.  She was an accomplished cross stitch designer and fabricated some beautiful afghans and blankets with her needlework.  Annette also enjoyed nature, birds and gardening.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny (Amy) Schill of Eugene, Oregon and Jeff (Ann) Schill of Urbandale, Iowa,   four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and her brother, Stan (Marianne) Higdon, of West Burlington, Iowa.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dick Rath, a brother, Dale Higdon, and a step daughter, Heidi Rath.

There will be no visitation or service.  Inurnment will be at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice in Annette's name.  Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
