Anna Hippen

Anna Hippen, 99, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. She was born March 27, 1912 in Comfrey, Minnesota, the daughter of Lambert and Grace (Van Lengen) Valentien. Anna married Jerry H. Hippen on December 21, 1940 in Estherville, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2000. Survivors include her daughter, Angeline Ormord, of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Andrew (Maria) Ormord and Amy (Scott) Smith, both of Cedar Falls; five great grandchildren, T.J. McClain, Andy McClain, Anna Smith, Sophia Ormord and Lucas Ormord; two step great grandchildren, Nate and Brandon Smith, and a daughter-in-law, Peg Hippen, of Chapin, South Carolina. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son, Marvin Hippen; eight brothers, Ausbrand, Ben, John, Albert, Jacobus, Jake, Dick and Henry Valentien, and two sisters, Bessie Hippen and Johanna Menken. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.
