Ann Elizabeth Baker, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at Western Home Communities Windhaven Assisted Living Center.Ann was born April 16, 1926, in Alexander, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence Payn & Anna Ferne (Shinabarger) Phillips.She married Leo Baker June 26, 1949 in Muscatine, Iowa.He preceded her in death September 11, 2008.Ann graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in nursing and volunteered in many organizations, mostly health related agencies such as, Goodwill Industries, Adult Care, Inc., Family Service League, United Way, and Easter Seal Society. Survivors include three sons, David (Janet) Baker, of Cedar Rapids, Jeffrey (Jackie) Baker, of Pewaukee, Wisconsin and Scott (Caihong) Baker, of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catherine, Jamie, Whitney, and William Baker; and her sister, Mary (Ken) Arnold, of Rock Island, Illinois. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Robert and John Phillips. Services will be3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014at Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church with inurnment in Mason City at a later date. In lieu of flowers, amemorial fund will be established with the Young Pediatric Clinician Fund, University of Iowa Foundation, 1 West Park Road, Iowa City, IA 52244.Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
