Anita A Aries

Anita A. Aries, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, October 24, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.  She was born January 25, 1927 in Waucoma, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Loretta (Kruse) Murphy.  Anita married Russell I. Aries on June 2, 1947 in Waterloo, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on July 9, 1996.  Anita was a 1945 graduate of Decorah High School and worked in the cafeteria at Peet Jr. High School and the Cedar Falls Woman's Club for many years.  She was past President of the American Legion Post 138 Auxiliary, past Secretary-Treasurer of the Iowa State 42nd Rainbow Division Auxiliary, a Life Member of Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Cedar Falls Fraternal Order of Eagles #4074 Auxiliary.

Survivors include her three daughters, Marilyn Fletcher of Spring Hill, Florida, Charlotte (Larry) Shock of Buckingham, Iowa and Phyllis Holmes of Cedar Falls; her two sons, Charles (Bobette) Aries and Steven (Teresa) Aries, both of Cedar Falls; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; her brother, Francis (Audrey) Murphy, Jr., of Waterloo; her two sisters, Rosetta Haugen of Gladbrook, Iowa and Geraldine (Ray) Wester of Independence, Iowa, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Murphy, of Rockford, Illinois.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, LaVerne Murphy.

Services will be 10:00 am Friday, October 28, 2011, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Garden of Memories in Waterloo.  Visitation will be 4—7:00 pm Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 7:00 pm Vigil & Rosary Service will be conducted.  Visitation also one hour before the service at the church.  A memorial fund will be established.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
