Alvin R. Lundberg, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. He was born April 23, 1927 at Pilot Mound, Iowa, the son of Carl and Anna J. (Johnson) Lundberg. Alvin married Alene Zimmerman on March 7, 1953 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa. Alvin attended Dayton High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a contractor and later a farmer for many years in rural Cedar Falls, retiring in 1990. Alvin enjoyed his family, fishing and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Alene Lundberg, of Cedar Falls; three sons, Kirk (Pennie) Lundberg of Hudson, James (Dené) Lundberg of Floyd, and Steven (Denise) Lundberg of Readlyn; two daughters, Rebecca (Greg) Nook of Parkville, Missouri and Jane (Paul) Clowser of Waukee; eleven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, a great grandson, and a sister, Naomi (Roger) Grindeland, of Ames.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl and Ben Lundberg.

Services were Monday, May 10, 2010, at Hudson United Methodist Church, with private burial at Hudson Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Hudson United Methodist Church or the Western Home Communities. Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
