Alice L. Wilson, 76, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Manorcare Health Services in Waterloo. She was born February 2, 1938 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Russel and Anna (Chesmore) Hundley. Alice married Eugene "Gene" Wilson on May 25, 1957 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls. She was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and was the coordinator at the Western Home Communities Willowwood facility in Cedar Falls. Alice was also a store clerk at Black's Dept. Store, Donaldson's and Carson-Pirie-Scott. Mom instilled value and wisdom in her family's lives. She was there for us when times were difficult and gave us emotional support. She was always there when we needed a shoulder to cry on. She cared deeply about her family and friends. Instead of going on elaborate vacations surrounded by exotic flowers, Mom was happiest in her home surrounded by family. She was an avid collector of angels and has many angel collectibles around the house. She loved planting flowers and taking care of them. She loved her pets. The loss of our Mother, who was such an important part of our lives, will be extremely difficult but I know our Mother would say to us "Honey, don't worry about me. I am with God, my family and friends and I will be your guardian angel." Survivors include her husband of Waterloo; five sons, Mike (Shelley) Wilson of Rochester, Minnesota, Larry (Wendy) Wilson and Chris (Deb) Wilson, both of Cedar Falls, Brian (Linda) Wilson of Indianola, Iowa and Mark Wilson of Waterloo; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren, and a sister, Beverly (Lewis) Boeck of Janesville, Iowa. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Hundley, and two sisters, Joan Randall and Dixie Hundley. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2014, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 47:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 6:30 p.m. Vigil Service will be conducted. Visitation also one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
