ALICE J.
ROEVER, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 17, at Windsor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Falls. She was born May 27, 1918 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Harry and Sara (Jeffers) Vaughn. Alice married Leland E. "Lee" Roever on January 1, 1937 in Waverly, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1981. Alice and Leland were co-owners of Lee's Meat Locker in Cedar Falls, and later the New Hartford Meat Locker. Alice retired in 1973.
She is survived by five sisters, Grace (Marion) Mills, Ruth Krumlinde, Betty Beaudoin and Helen (LaVern) Svien, all of Cedar Falls, and Harriet Koester of Waterloo.
Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Corwin.
Funeral services were Monday, March 20, 2006, at St. John Lutheran Church, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the church or Amenity Hospice of Cedar Rapids.
