Alice L. Brooks, 85, of Cedar Falls and formerly of Palm Desert, California, died Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. She was born February 17, 1922 in Billings, Montana, the daughter of Edwin and Nellie (Snider) Wight. Alice married James H. Brooks on June 21, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1992. Alice worked in the jewelry department at Bullocks Department Store in Los Angeles and was a bookkeeper with the Army Corps of Engineers during WW II.Survivors include two sons, Brad (Lori) Brooks of Cedar Falls and Bob (Deneë) Brooks of San Diego, California; five grandchildren, Connor & Spencer Brooks of Cedar Falls and Lauren, Jessica & Mariah Brooks of San Diego, and a sister, Ann Roysdon, of Billings, Montana.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Memorial services will be 3:00 pm Thursday, February 7, 2008, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of East Central Iowa.
