ALBERT NELSON, Jr., 85, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, November 5, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. He was born January 13, 1921 on the family farm near Cedar Falls, the son of Albert J. and Amy (Pound) Nelson. Albert was a graduate of Teachers College High School ( Northern University High School). He married Ruth Colson and they were later divorced. Albert married Lorraine Stahlhut Eisenman on September 30, 1972 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa. He was a farmer for many years near Cedar Falls and worked for the State Conservation Commission in Cedar Falls for five years. Albert was past president of the Waterloo Eagles Club #764, where he was a fifty year member. He was a thirty year member of the Waterloo Elk's Club and was a member of Waterloo AMVETS Post 19.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Nelson, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Theodore (Donna) Nelson of Cedar Falls and Larry (Bev) Nelson of Coralville, Iowa; a son-in-law, Bill Bates of Iowa City, Iowa; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many cousins. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Virginia Bates, and a brother, Kenneth Nelson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, November 8, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 5—8:00 pm Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 6:00 pm Eagle's Service will be conducted, and visitation one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Valley Hospice, or the charity of the donor's choice.
