Alan Roy Adams

Alan Roy Adams, 67, of Waterloo, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023.  He was born June 1, 1956, in Cedar Falls, son of Lorain "Joe" and Marilyn (Shepherd) Adams. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1974 and UNI in 1988 where he studied economics.  He married Barbara Wray on February 21, 1976, at Nazareth Lutheran in Cedar Falls and they later divorced.  He married Rhonda Storbeck on July 2, 1988, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua and they also later divorced. Alan worked for Principal Financial Group in Des Moines after graduation then a variety of jobs thereafter.  Alan enjoyed attending flea markets and collecting coins or baseball cards.  He cherished spending time in nature whether he was fishing or, simply, walking a dog.

Alan was preceded in death by his mother; his father and step-mother, Cleone Adams; He is survived by children: Mike (Kristi) Adams of Marion, Ashley Medeiros of Auburn, Alabama and Allyson (Reid) Swanson of Montgomery, Alabama; 5 grandchildren: Caine, Myah, Ruby, Cason and Olivia; a sister, Becky (Gene) Kriz of Cedar Falls; and long-term companion, Marla Limbrecht.

Alan's Memorial Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Family for future designation. Private inurnment at a later date at McCallsburg Cemetery, McCallsburg, Iowa.
