Agnes L. Schlichting, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. She was born February 15, 1918 near Tripoli, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Tratow) Bunger. Agnes married Werner Schlichting on December 1, 1937 at Crane Creek Lutheran Church in Tripoli. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1989. Agnes attended Fremont Township School near Tripoli. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Don (Kathy) Blasberg of Tripoli, Marian (Larry) Noack of Cedar Falls, Gladys (Jim) Lohmann of Sumner, Duane (Jean Gienau) Blasberg of Tripoli, Eugene (Marge) Knoploh of Sumner, Jean Melrose of Rogers, Arkansas, Dorothy Lutz of Cedar Rapids, Martin (Daisy) Schlichting of Lebanon, Virginia, Darrell (Fran) Schlichting of Missouri, Melvin (Diane) Schlichting of Minnesota, Verdene (Vern) Peters of Janesville, Iowa, and a sister-in-law, Fern Schlichting, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant brothers and her sister, Erna Blasberg. Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Nazareth Lutheran Church Chapel, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 57:00 pm Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
